The Dead-Enders

This is our cover art for the May 2003 print issue of The Intellectual Activist. Here is an excerpt from Robert W. Tracinski's cover article, "The Dead-Enders: The Self-Selected Casualties of the War in Iraq": "[T]he desperate fighters in Iraq are not the only dead-enders left flailing ineffectually after the collapse of Saddam Hussein's dictatorship. There are many others, outside of Iraq, who are still stumbling down their own blind alleys -- not out of loyalty to a specific dictator, but out of loyalty to the ideas that make dictatorship possible. Today, exposed to the sight of the world, they are pursing those ideas to the logical dead end."
