Not Forgotten

A belated salute to the Pakistani and American operatives who captured Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, the Al Qaeda planner allegedly responsible for the 9/11 terrorist attack and other atrocities. The arrest is apparently leading authorities to other Al Qaeda members, from Osama bin Laden himself to suspects in eight American cities. (Latter story via LGF)

Shoot, I misunderstood this completely. The NY Times said KSM's capture was a "rare victory" in the war on terror. They couldn't be wrong, could they?

Let's hope there is plenty of room in those talons to hold more...

When I first saw the cartoon, before I read the caption, I thought, "Dumb Bomb." :-)

Maybe when they're through wringing info out of him, they can drop him from about 10,000 ft over one of Saddam's palaces, with a note tied round his neck that says, "You're Next!"

We ought to let the media know in advance, so they can show it live.

I have two of Steve Breen's earlier cartoons on my cube at work, and this one is the perfect complement to them. I wish I could find a link to the second, but it's basically the eagle from the first pic flying away, leaving his stool and nail file behind.

I LOVE THIS CARTOON!! For me, the eagle's expression is one of quiet menace - just perfect. As is the thuggish-looking KSM.
